Local issues - where I stand
  • Housing - I oppose any further large scale development within and around Stratford Town including the Shottery option and the proposed Western Relief feeder road
  • Planning - I object to Stratford being turned into a building site. There have been far too many changes in Stratford - Stop Now!
  • Council Tax - I would encourage any initiative whereby cost-savings can be achieved by working closely with neighbouring authorities, for example by sharing Chief Executives and other senior personel and empowering Warwickshire County Council to collect the Council Tax rather than continuing the present, costly system for each District and Borough
  • Waste Collection - I applaud the re-cycling targets that have been achieved and will regularly monitor collections at local level
  • Fire Station closures - I support the alternative proposals for fire service provision, put forward by the communities of Bidford, Alcester and Studley.
  • Anti-social behaviour - our police and local services must be encouraged to do all in their power to rid Stratford Town Centre of thuggish, loutish and drunken behaviour. There is no place for this in so-called First-Class Stratford. Labour's 24-hour licensing laws are a disaster and must be repealed.
